Who is responsible?

The controller of personal data processed through dyns.cx is Martin Revelant. For privacy requests and other enquiries, email info@dyns.cx.

What the service processes

When you visit, Cloudflare processes connection and request information, including your IP address, request time, URL and browser information, to deliver and protect the site. When you start a report, we process the domain you enter and retrieve its public DNS, website, registration and network information. The browser extracts the hostname from a pasted website address; its path, query and fragment are not submitted for checking. Do not enter passwords, credentials or private addresses.

To enforce usage limits, the application stores a keyed hash of your IP address, the checked domain, a session identifier, timestamps and which checks have been used. It does not store a plain IP address in that limiter table. The hash is pseudonymous, not anonymous. The displayed report stays in the page memory; there is no account or saved-report history.

Why we process it

We use these data to provide the checker, prevent abuse, diagnose failures and answer enquiries. Our legal basis is legitimate interests in operating and securing the service and handling correspondence (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR). Providing an email and message is voluntary; without them we cannot reply. Connection data and a domain are necessary to perform a check. Usage limits are automated, but we do not use the service to make decisions producing legal or similarly significant effects about you.

Providers and external requests

Cloudflare hosts and protects the service. Checks query Google Public DNS, domain registries through RDAP, RIPEstat, Cloudflare Security DNS and Quad9, and contact the checked website. These providers receive the domain or network address needed for their check. The checks run from our server; we do not add your visitor IP to those queries. Your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your connection information. Email to our contact address passes through Cloudflare Email Routing and is delivered to Gmail.

Providers may process data outside the European Economic Area. Applicable safeguards can include adequacy decisions and standard contractual clauses. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy and Google’s privacy policy; contact us for information about safeguards relevant to your data.

Storage and retention

The limiter uses a rolling one-hour window. Older rows are deleted on the next report-start request; they can remain longer while the service is idle. Cloudflare Workers diagnostic logs are retained for the provider’s plan-specific period (currently up to seven days). Other provider security records follow their applicable retention rules. Correspondence is kept while needed to resolve your enquiry and any related dispute, then removed when no longer necessary.

We do not add advertising trackers or analytics cookies. The browser stores only the next permitted check time in localStorage under dyns-cooldown; it contains no domain or IP address and is ignored once expired. It remains until overwritten or browser site data are cleared. Cloudflare may use necessary security mechanisms when protecting the site.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may request access, rectification, erasure, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Write to info@dyns.cx. You may complain to your local data-protection authority, including the President of the Personal Data Protection Office in Poland (UODO). We may ask for proportionate information to verify a request. This notice applies to the current checker, not former DyNS accounts or services.
